Information

Newheat provides innovative decarbonisation solutions for large heat consumers: cities and industries, in France and abroad. We develop, design, build, finance and operate renewable and recovered heat production plants tailored to our customers' needs. To do this, we combine the most virtuous technologies, seeking to make the most of local energy resources, to provide our customers with a comprehensive, reliable and competitive renewable and sustainable heat supply service. Newheat designed the Lactosol plant, which supplies heat to the Lactalis Ingredients dairy site in Verdun. Newheat supplies the drying tower needed to dry the liquid whey. To achieve this, Newheat designed a solar thermal plant covering almost 15,000 m², with a maximum output of around 13 MWth, and added a 3,000 m² storage tank to store several days' worth of heat production, to ensure continuity of supply at night and on cloudy summer days. Lactosol is the largest solar thermal plant in France and the second largest in Europe supplying an industrial site.

NEWHEAT3-F12Newheat is a supplier of renewable and sustainable heat. Since 2015, the company has been offering innovative decarbonisation solutions for large heat consumers: industrial sites and district heating networks in France and abroad. It is committed to preserving and developing local energy resources to provide a tailor-made solution for each of its customers. Its unique expertise lies in prioritising the use of these local energy resources in line with a sustainable, long-term vision. Its business is to develop, design, build, finance and operate projects that combine waste heat recovery, solar thermal energy, short and long-term thermal storage systems, optimised electrification solutions (industrial heat pumps, etc.) and, if necessary, the combustion of renewable resources. Integrated across the entire value chain, the company offers a comprehensive ‘at the meter’ heat supply offering, including a third-party financing solution based on a Heat Purchase Agreement (HPA) for 15 to 30 years. Depending on its customers' requirements, the company can also offer turnkey construction solutions (EPC), backed up if necessary by long-term operation and maintenance services. Based in Bordeaux, Newheat currently employs 50 committed people. Its technical team is heavily involved in R&D programmes that have won national and European competitions, such as the European Union's Horizon Europe and Innovation Fund programmes. The company was one of the winners of the 1st promotion of the French Tech 2030 programme, which aims to support emerging players that are responding to the major challenges facing society. It has also won a number of awards for its projects, including the IEA SHC Solar Award 2024 for its LACTOSOL renewable solar thermal plant, the largest in France to supply an industrial site in Verdun. The company currently has 5 sites in operation, with a total of 40 MW installed. Newheat's aim is to have an installed base representing a cumulative investment of €1 billion by 2030, with an annual volume of renewable heat delivered of 1.5 TWh, avoiding almost 300,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year.
